It’s been an incredibly busy but exciting few weeks finishing the new album mixing with Joe Gibb and now we’re pleased to announce Requiem For A Dream has been beautifully mastered by top mastering engineer Pete Maher.

Pete has mastered for many of the world’s top artists including The Rolling Stones, U2, Depeche Mode, Jack White, Nick Cave and many more.

For those that like a few stats – at nearly 80 minutes, the album is a few seconds short of the absolute maximum it’s possible to fit on a CD!

We are very excited to announce the release of our new studio album Requiem For A Dream on June 5th 2023, World Environment Day. Featuring eight stunning new songs, the lavishly produced new album also includes our most ambitious track to date, the 25 minute epic, ‘Requiem For A Dream’.  

”The album explores themes of personal adversity, loss, despair and forgiveness, experienced through the prism of global chaos, climate change and environmental destruction.” says Ian & Sertari. ”A beautiful world slowly dying and tinged with fear, yet grasping for hope.  We are reminded of the fragility of Sagan’s unique ‘pale blue dot’ floating in a vast ocean of stars. We are dancing in the rain. This is our requiem for a dream.“

The timeless qualities of the band’s sound are captured in this lush, multi-layered, symphonic production; mysterious, haunting and beautiful, yet epic in scope and embracing sonic ambition.

The album features the beautiful uilleann pipes and low whistle of special guest and long-term band collaborator, Troy Donockley from global phenomenon, Nightwish.

The album was mixed by Joe Gibb, highly regarded as a world class engineer who has worked with many prestigious artists including Massive Attack, The Cure and Leftfield.

Requiem For A Dream is released on World Environment Day June 5^th 2023

Great to announce that top mix engineer, and long time Karnataka collaborator Joe Gibb, is mixing the new album. As well as working on most of the Karnataka releases, Joe has also worked with many artists including Massive Attack, The Cure and Leftfield.

This Sunday we’ll be headlining the final night of the Soundle Weekend festival which takes place at The Queen Victoria Hall in Oundle. It’s also our final tour date until next year! Tickets are available from We Got Tickets

Tomorrow on the THE PROG AND ROCK SHOW www.beatrouteradio.co.uk between 6pm and 8pm UK time, Bob Prigmore will be featuring tracks from Karnataka and 7 other bands who will be performing at the Prog For Peart Festival which takes place over July 1/2. The festival helps to raise money for cancer research. Sertari and Ian will be hovering in and around the Prog and Rock Show chatroom answering any questions you have… within reason! As previously announced, we’re excited to be playing at the Prog For Peart festival being held in Abingdon, Oxfordshire over the weekend 1st & 2nd July. The event is in memory of Rush drummer Neil Peart and raises money to fund research into a cure for the fatal type of brain cancer which he sadly died from. There are 16 bands playing in total with eight on each day. We’re headlining on Friday 1st July but there are weekend tickets, Friday tickets, Saturday tickets & limited Camping tickets. There are also streaming tickets available too & two exclusive t-shirts featuring paintings of Neil Peart by artist Charlie Roy if you cannot make the event but want to contribute to this worthwhile cause
